The visual novel is set in a dystopian alternate reality in which most countries are run by unelected bureaucrats and the government's political power is extremely limited. Specifically, the game takes place in Santa Rita, a city choked by corruption and ruled by the mafia.
You play as Luna, a young woman with a dark past whose life is turned upside down when her father dies and she discovers that her old man was involved in some very shady business. Worse, Luna learns that her father has made many enemies over the years. These people seem to harbor a deep grudge against her father... and his family as a whole.
They want payback. They want blood. Her blood. With the help of the mysterious Mr. Cavalcanti, her father's friend, Luna leaves Santa Rita, her hometown - she runs away from home to save her life.
